Days 1 & 2: Camp Okavango.

On arrival at Maun Airport you will be colleted for your flight in a light aircraft to Camp Okavango. Camp Okavango is situated on remote Nxaragha Island in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta, assuring a year-round water wilderness experience.

Camp Okavango's unashamed luxury blends with the Africa of yore in the elegant thatch and lethaka main lodge buildings. Meals are silver service at dining tables romantically lit by candelabra. The dining-room leads onto an expansive open-air patio for evenings around a blazing camp fire. Other lodge facilities include a cocktail bar, lounge, wildlife reference library, a secluded bird-viewing hide, shaded hammocks, reading benches and a delightful sun-deck and plunge pool for relaxation during the hot midday hours.

Camp Okavango accommodates only 22 guests in intimate exclusivity in East African-style safari tents individually situated on raised teak platforms with en-suite ablution facilities and private sun-decks. Each tent is exquisitely furnished with an African teak wardrobe, luggage rack, dressing table, bedside pedestals and traditional director's chairs. Colourful woven rugs, designer linen and matching interior blinds complete your African hideaway.

The Okavango Delta is arguably the finest wilderness wetland in the world; renowned as a haven for rare species such as the elusive sitatunga antelope and the Pel's fishing owl, the Delta is also a bird-watchers paradise.

Camp Okavango is the ideal base from which to discover the secrets of this incredible wetland ecosystem. All game-viewing activities are conducted by experienced resident naturalist guides and include exploring the Okavango by canoe and river craft on wildlife and bird-watching expeditions. Guided nature walks on the islands of the Delta afford an opportunity to track some of the larger species that inhabit this water wilderness. Fishing for the fighting tiger-fish, pike and bream is excellent at most times of the year.

 

Days 3 & 4: Camp Moremi.

Camp Moremi

Camp Moremi is situated on the beautiful Xakanaxa Lagoon on the eastern side of the Okavango Delta, within the Moremi Game Reserve. Here, where the life-giving waters of the Okavango meet up with vast Kalahari, ancient mopane forests, open grasslands, seasonal floodplains and riverine habitats have formed, creating one of the most magnificent and welcoming animal sanctuaries in all Africa.

Shaded by giant ebony trees, the magnificent Moremi tree lodge is an elegant elevated thatch and timber structure consisting of a main lounge, wildlife reference library, dining-room and stylishly decorated cocktail bar cooled by overhead punkah-punkah fans. The large sun-deck affords an unsurpassed view of Xakanaxa Lagoon. A curio shop, swimming pool, covered boma and elevated observation platform assures Camp Moremi of its status as Botswana's finest safari lodge.

Your Accommodation at Camp Moremi accommodates only 22 guests in East African-style safari tents, individually situated on raised teak platforms. Safari Activities include tracking big game on morning and afternoon game drives by open 4x4 safari vehicle, excellent bird-watching, exploring the Xakanaxa Lagoon and surrounding Okavango channels by powerboat.

 

Day 5: Transfer back to Maun for your on ward flight or safari.

Safari starts and finishes in Maun, Botswana and includes all meals, game activities and transfers from Maun to the camps.
