This safari commences in Francistown and ends in Maun, Botswana.

 

DAY 1: You will be met at Francistown airport, and transferred to your campsite near Francistown to enjoy your first dinner of the safari around the campfire. Overnight camp near Francistown.

DAY 2: After an early breakfast you travel through a number of villages en-route to the remote rocky outcrop known as Kubu Island, situated on the southern tip of Sowa Pan, which is part of the ancient Makgadikgadi lake system. Twisted baobabs grow on this island with the saltpan stretching to the horizon on all sides. You arrive in time to wander around and take evening photographs before dinner. Overnight Kubu Island.

DAY 3: You will spend the day at Kubu Island exploring this fascinating area. Overnight Kubu Island.

DAY 4: Leaving Kubu Island you travel to Orapa, one of the world's richest diamond mines and then onto Rakops. You enter the Central Kalahari Game Reserve at Matswere Gate. Arriving in the evening you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of Deception Valley. Overnight Deception Valley.

DAY 5: Today is spent exploring Deception Valley and the adjoining pans of this beautiful region. This area is home to many of Kalahari animals such as springbok, gemsbok, hartebeest and lion. You should see numbers of antelope during your morning and afternoon game drives. Time to relax at camp during the day. Overnight Deception Pan.

DAY 6: You travel south-west into the Central Kalahari to arrive at the remote Piper Pan. Overnight Piper Pan.

DAY 7: You enjoy a second day at Piper Pan to get the true feeling of the Kalahari. Overnight Piper Pan.

DAY 8: Leaving Piper Pan you travel in an easterly direction through the Central Kalahari crossing ancient river beds and vegetated sandunes. You stop to visit a group of Bushmen living in a remote area at Molapo. Camp is set up near this Bushmen village. Overnight Molapo.

DAY 9: An interesting day is spent with these Bushmen, during which time they demonstrate to us their survival techniques and way of life in the Kalahari. Overnight Molapo.

DAY 10: You bid farewell to the Bushmen and leave the Central Kalahari Game Reserve to camp along the banks of the Boteti River. Overnight Boteti River.

DAY 11: You reach Maun, Gateway to the Okavango, in the afternoon, and travel to your next camp, unpack, shower and relax. An optional game flight over the Okavango Delta gives you an aerial view of this inland wonder. Dinner in the mess tent. Overnight Maun Camp.

DAY 12: A leisurely day on mokoros in the papyrus fringed channels of the Okavango Delta including game walk. Packed lunches will be provided. Overnight Maun Camp.

DAY 13: Travelling through traditional villages you should start to see numbers of game before entering Moremi Wildlife Reserve. The route takes you on a scenic drive through the Moremi forests to Xaxanaka lagoons where the camp is set up. Camp near Xaxanaka in an exclusive wilderness area.

DAY 14: Early morning and afternoon game drives through Moremi with its wilderness of rivers and lagoons, and its magnificent scenery. Time to relax at camp during the day. Camp near Xaxanaka in an exclusive wilderness area.

DAY 15: Another early start to take an interesting route through Moremi north to Kwai River. Bush lunch en-route. You return to the camp in the late afternoon. Campfire dinner. Camp near Xaxanaka in an exclusive wilderness area.

DAY 16: An early breakfast before you depart on our return journey to reach Maun. Packed lunch en-route. You are taken to Maun Airport for your outward bound flight.
