Our specialist guide takes you on an adventure safari on a route seldom used by others. You travel through the harsh world of the Kalahari from Khutse Game Reserve in the south to Deception Valley in the north. Passing through Bushmen settlements we observe the survival techniques and the way of life of these ancient people. We spend two days at the beautiful and remote Piper Pan before reaching Deception Valley, home to a variety of Kalahari game.

This safari starts in Gaborone and ends in Maun.

Day 1: You will be met on arrive at Gaborone Airport on an early flight. Our route take us through Molepole to letlhakeng and on to Salajwe. Overnight en route to Khutse Game Reserve.

Day 2: In Khutse Game Reserve we explore the vegetated Pan floors and go in search of Kalahari game. Overnight Khutse Game Reserve.

Day 3: We enter the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and our route takes us over sandy tracks which take some negotiating! We reach Moithomelo and on to the Bape borehole passing through small Bushmen settlements en route. We stop to greet these people and observe their lifestyle in the inhospitable land of the Kalahari. Overnight in the region of Bape.

Day 4: Continuing in a northerly direction we travel passed the settlement of Menoatshe and continue ourjourney through the Central Kalahari to reach Metseamonong during the late afternoon. Overnight in the region of Metseamonong.

Days 5 & 6: Our route takes us deeper into the Central Kalahari to arrive in the afternoon at the Bushmen settlement of Molapo. We spend the next day with these Bushmen who demonstrate their survival techniques and way of life in the Kalahari. In the evening the Bushmen will sing haunting songs of the Kalahari and dance their traditional dances. Overnight Molapo.

Day 7: leaving the Bushmen we travel west through sandy scrub land typical of the Kalahari, to reach the remote Piper Pan in the late afternoon. We enjoy the peace and tranquillity around the campfire. Overnight Piper Pan.

Day 8: Morning and afternoon game drives. Time to relax during the beat of the day. Overnight Piper Pan.

 

Days 9 & 10: We spend the following two day's exploring Deception Pan, and the adjoining pans. This area is home to a number of Kalahari animals such as springbok, gemsbok, red hartebeest, brown hyena and lion, which we should see on our morning and afternoon game drives. Overnight Deception Valley.

Day 11: We leave the Central Kalahari Game Reserve at Matswere Gate and join the tarred road to Maun, Gateway to the Okavango. Overnight Maun Camp.

Day 12: Transfer to Maun Airport for outbound flight.
