DAY BUSH AND BEACH
A romantic safari for two flying
between a combination of luxurious bush homes and tented camps. The scenery
is truly outstanding and the wildlife viewing available second to none.
Arriving in Nairobi check into Macushla House, rest of the day is at leisure.
The next morning fly south to Amboseli National Park and see the huge
elephant herds with the magnificent backdrop of Mt Kilimanjaro. The next
destination is the beautiful private reserve of Lewa Downs located in
the North of the country and offering the opportunity of horseriding,
walking and night game drives. Fly into the Rift Valley where Rekero is
tucked away in a remote area of theMasai Mara and offers a fantastic experience
in viewing the Mara's predators without the crowds. When the bush experience
comes to an end fly to the Kenyan coast and the tropical island of Lamu.
A speedboat will meet you at the airstrip and take you to Kipungani, an
idyllic hideaway resort where you can cast off your shoes and swim, dive
or windsurf in the clear blue waters.
Day 1 - Nairobi
Arrive into Nairobi to be met and transferred to Macushla House. The rest
of the day is at leisure. Macushla House is a beautifully decorated home
with 4 guest rooms and a swimming pool. It's located in Nairobi's Langata
suburb so it is quiet and peaceful and a great escape from the hustle
and bustle of downtown. It is within walking distance of the Giraffe Centre
and close to Karen Blixen museum, several artisan workshops and the Utamaduni
Craft Centre.
  
Day 2 - Amboseli National Park
This morning transfer to Wilson Airport for your 07:30 flight to Amboseli
National Park. You will be met at the airstrip and game drive en-route
to your accommodation at Tortilis Camp. After lunch there will be an afternoon
game drive until dusk. Amboseli National Park supports a wide range of
wildlife particularly elephants roaming in large herds. With Mt Kilimanjaro
in the background it is the scene of many classic African safari shots.
A section of the park is a seasonal lake the remainder being swamplands,
fed by melting snow from Kilimanjaro, and savannah woodland. Tortilis
Camp, a tented luxury lodge on the edge of the Amboseli National Park
consisting of 15 tents. The tents are large and luxurious sheltered by
makuti thatched roofs and each with en-suite facilities. The camp has
magnificent views of Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru further in the distance.
In between game drives you may wish to take a guided game walk outside
the park or relax in the swimming pool.

Day 3 - Amboseli National Park
A full day available for game driving in the National Park. You may also
visit a nearby. Overnight Tortilis Camp

Days 4 & 5 - Mount Kenya
After breakfast transfer to the airstrip for your 0830 flight to Nairobi.
Connect with the 0915 flight north to Lewa Downs. You will be met at Lewa
and taken to your accommodation. Lunch then take a game drive on the ranch
in the afternoon. Lewa Safari Camp is located on Lewa Downs a 45,000 acre
private ranch (encompassing the Ngare Sergoi Rhino Sanctuary) located
north of Mt Kenya, the ranch has belonged to the Craig family since 1924.
There is abundant wildlife in this beautiful area and guests can take
day and night game drives, bush walks, camel treks and horseback treks
on the ranch. The Safari Camp is hosted by John and Annelise Clark and
consists of 12 spacious, comfortable tents. There are a range of stimulating
activities included such as day and night game drives, bush walks and
conservation lectures. Overnights at Lewa Safari Camp.
  
Day 6 - Masai Mara
After breakfast take a mid-morning flight to Nairobi where you will connect
with the 1500 departure to the Masai Mara. A Kicheche vehicle will collect
you upon arrival in the Mara. Game drive en-route to Kicheche Mara Camp.

Kicheche Mara Camp is a luxury
bush camp hidden away in a grove of trees on the Aitong plains of the
Masai Mara. There are a maximum of 20 guests, all staying under canvas
in this intimate camp situated in prime wildlife habitat The Masai Mara
Game Reserve, is probably the most famous in Africa. Rising grassland
nearly 2000m above sea level, watered by the Mara river and covering an
area of 1500 sq. km. The Mara is well known for the part it plays in the
seasonal (June/Sept) migration from the Serengeti of 200,000 Zebra, 300,000
Thomson Gazelle and 1.3 million Wildebeest following the annual rains.
The Mara region however provides for wonderful game viewing year round.
In all 95 mammal, amphibian and reptile species plus 485 flying species
excluding insects inhabit the Mara eco-system.

Day 7 - Masai Mara
A whole day at your disposal to game drive, walk or visit one of the local
communities. Overnight Kicheche Mara Camp
Day 8 - Lamu Island
Depart the Mara on the 11:00 flight
which connects to the Lamu flight in Nairobi. Arrive in Lamu at 15:00
where you will be met by a boat and transferred to Kipungani Resort. Kipungani
Sea Breezes is located in a remote area of Lamu Island, you will be met
at the airstrip and taken by speedboat to Kipungani. This small exotic
resort is private, secluded and very relaxing. The style is simple yet
elegant and very natural, the 15 cottages, each on stilts, are spread
out along the beachfront. The food is first class and a dream for seafood
lovers. There is windsurfing, snorkelling, sailing and scuba diving available
for those more active. There are also optional trips by dhow into the
historic and culturally rich Lamu town.
Day 9 - Lamu Island
A free day to do as much or as little as you like at this idyllic hideaway.
Overnight Kipungani Sea Breezes.
Day 10 - Homeward Bound
Your flight back to Nairobi departs at 15:45 and arrives in Nairobi 17:15.
You will be met in Nairobi and transferred to connect with your international
flight.
