Classic Tented Safaris, Lake Kariba.

Our Classic Tented Safaris in Matusadona give our guests a taste of a classic safari experience and at the same time allow them to pampered in ‘5' star luxury.

Our large ‘A' frame tents hold a couple of beds, bedside tables and accessories. They have a large verandah with chairs to sit on in the shade and admire the view of Africa at its best. The camp has a hot ‘bush shower' and a flush loo.

The dining area is under the stars at night and under convenient shade during the day. It is well catered for by a friendly and efficient staff who produce unrivalled bush cuisine. There is a bar situated around the fire at night.

 

Our activities on these safaris are walking, driving and boating and they vary according to our guests preference. Typically the early mornings are a great time to go out walking and do some tracking or learn the signs which tell the story of the evening before.

These camps remain stationary for the duration of the safari and are set as often as possible in exclusive camp sites in the park.

 

The evenings are a great time for game viewing with good results from both the vehicles and the boat. With prolific animal and bird life, these safaris are a must for both beginners and the more experienced guests. All these safaris are led by an armed qualified professional guide.

 

Daily Routine

05:30 a.m Up for tea/coffee and biscuits with sunrise.

06:00 a.m Commence 2 to 3 hour walk tracking wildlife.

09:00 a.m Return to camp for full English breakfast.

10:30 a.m Take vehicle for game drive along the shoreline.

1:00 p.m Return to camp for lunch.

2:00 - 4:00 p.m Siesta period

4:30 p.m Take boat for an afternoon cruise combined with a walk.

6:30 p.m Return to camp for hot shower and cold drinks.

8:00 p.m A four course dinner under the stars.
