Impalila Island Lodge

Impalila Island Lodge is a luxurious 16-bedded lodge uniquely situated at the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi rivers where 4 countries meet. We are Namibian, neighbouring Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana.

Impalila Lodge

The architecture of Impalila Island Lodge incorporates wood, thatch and giant baobab trees – offering a protective cradle of arms to our island of refuge. Eight en-suite chalets of comfort are decorated in the rich colours of Africa – it is difficult not to sleep deeply when lulled by the sound of the Mambova rapids. Uninterrupted river views and privacy.

Susuwe Island Lodge

You could wait a lifetime to experience closely a truly wild
and untouched island of Africa.

Susuwe Island Lodge offers just this:- remotely situated in the Kwando River – a permanent water source which nourishes delicate ecosystems
and sustains varied game and bird life.

Susuwe Lodge

Susuwe Island Lodge is built to incorporate the riverine forest – lofty canopy viewing decks overlooking endless savannahs, glistening lily-studded wetlands and ancient Kalahari woodlands. Only six spacious suites each with your own private plunge pool offer our visitors the opportunity to merge unhurriedly with Africa’s timeless evolution of hazy days and star-studded nights.

Central to the main complex is a fire pit where the days events evoke warm conversations around the incredible gifts nature has to offer. Comfortable lounge areas and elevated platforms offer you the opportunity to relax and witness ancient legend – as African days and nights evolve unhurriedly.

Susuwe Lodge

A large wooden mosaic inlaid swivel door opens into a spacious suite with double bedroom, bathroom with shower and bath:- all leading onto your own wooden deck with private plunge pool overlooking the Kwando river as it flows lazily past.

Susuwe Lodge

Game viewing is diverse at Susuwe – a wild and largely uncharted area. The perennial Kwando river is a magnet for a variety of game.

Migratory herds of elephant move through the area in vast numbers. Sightings of buffalo, leopard, lion, and wild dog are possible and many antelope including lechwe, sitatunga and sable occur here. Night drives offer an amazing insight into the African bush.

Susuwe Lodge

Bird watching holds extraordinary importance at Susuwe. With many resident and migrant “specials” – such as Wattled cranes, Racket-tailed rollers, Wood owls, African crakes - and abundant viewing opportunities in varied and beautiful habitats, binoculars should always be handy. usuwe Island Lodge is situated on Carmine bend of the Kwando river, but many species of bee-eaters are common.
