BEST OF NAMIBIA WING SAFARI
6 Nights / 7 Days

On this 7 day fly-in safari you experience the highlights of Namibia - Sossusvlei, the Namib, the Skeleton Coast, Swakopmund, Damaraland and Etosha.

Departing every Sunday throughout the year. We fly from Eros Airport in Windhoek. On this safari the aircraft and pilot stay with you throughout this safari so there is continuity and flexibility.

All meals, park fees and activities are included. The group size is normally two to four guests - however, we reserve the right to go to a maximum of eight.

To this safari you can also add the 4 or 5 day Skeleton Coast Wing Safari to make the Ultimate Namibian Safari

Days 1 & 2: Sossusvlei
Depart Eros Airport (Windhoek) by light aircraft for Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp. Approximately an hour's flight away. We will be departing in the late morning, at a time best suited to the incoming flights of the guests.

Sossusvlei

Activities are conducted in 4x4 vehicles and include a safari down to the very end of the Tsauchab River and to the heart of Sossusvlei for wonderful dune scenes. Optional ballooning can be arranged at extra cost. (Please book this in advance). Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp - nine thatched chalets built on the rise of a rocky outcrop. En-suite bathrooms with shower. The main unit has a lounge, dining room and pub. Each chalet has its own plunge pool.

Sossusvlei

Days 3 & 4: Swakopmund & Damaraland
We depart by light aircraft and fly over the dunes of the Namib and Sossusvlei to gain a different perspective of the area from the air. We continue westwards to Meob Bay on the Atlantic 0cean and then fly up the Skeleton Coast. The flight offers spectacular desert and Skeleton Coast scenery, where the dunes and the desert meet the Atlantic Ocean.

Damaraland

Our flight takes us over the site of the Eduard Bolen shipwreck, past Conception Bay and the wreck site of the Shaunee, over Sandwich Harbour and its famous lagoon, the flamingoes at Walvis Bay and on to Swakopmund. Here we are met and transferred into town for a crayfish lunch. In the afternoon we depart from Swakopmund, for a scenic flight further up the Skeleton Coast, and over the Cape Cross Seal Colony before we turn east and fly up the Huab River to Damaraland Camp for two nights.

Damaraland

Highlights of the stay at Damaraland Camp are nature excursions into the rocky desert in search of the rare and endangered Desert Elephant and Rhino. We are in an area where the chances of encountering the Elephants are high. Damaraland Camp - eight large tents with en-suite facilities and fans. Nature walks and drives into the area. Large main area under canvas with dining room and lounge. Highlight is tracking Desert Elephant in the Huab River valley. Rock pool.

Damaraland

Days 5 & 6: Etosha & Ongava
Fly by light aircraft from Damaraland to Ongava for two nights. Highlights are the game drives into Etosha and the night drives, walks and hides on the private reserve. The Ongava Experience Etosha is Namibia's premier wildlife park.

Ongava Tented Camp

It has great concentrations of game and there are wonderful views out onto the salt pans which dominate the centre of the park. Etosha's drawback is that the only accommodation offered within the park are the large rest camps. Ongava offers an excellent alternative. Ongava Lodge and Tented Camp is situated on the private 30 000 hectare Ongava Game Reserve and shares a common border with Etosha on its southern boundary.

Ongava Tented Camp

The Lodge and Tented Camp offers the full Etosha experience but at the same time offers great accommodation and service, as well as the opportunity to do night drives and nature walks on the reserve, activities which are not allowed within Etosha.

Day 7: Back to Windhoek Depart Ongava for flight back to Windhoek.
