Discovering Namibia is a captivating experience. Venture into a world of changing scenery, vast unspoilt wilderness, with its cosmopolitan atmosphere and people. We explore Namibia's attractions using a diverse itinerary, including the central area with the Namib Desert (Sesriem and Naukluft) and the northern area with the famous Etosha National Park and other regions not normally visited by the ordinary tourist.

DAY 1: WINDHOEK Windhoek, with its novel scenery of German architecture, activities and atmosphere is a city which can be visited throughout the year. The day is spent at leisure. Hotel Safari or guesthouse accommodation is on a bed and breakfast basis. Dinner and lunch are for your own account.

DAY 2: WATERBERG PLATEAU PARK Namibia is a land of striking contrasts, and one of such contrasts is the Table Mountain of the Waterberg Plateau Park abruptly rising hundreds of metres above the surrounding plains.

DAY 3/4/5/6: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK This park is one of the most important reserves and game sanctuaries in Africa. The pan itself is a vast shallow depression 139km by 5Okm. It is a ghostly white lake, dazzling with heat waves and mirages for most of the year. Thousands of wild animals such as blue wildebeest, springbok, zebra kudu, giraffe, cheetah, leopard, lion, elephant, etc. are attracted to the area. The birdlife is prolific with 326 recorded species. We relax around the swimming pool and enjoy early morning and afternoon game drives.

DAY 7/8: DAMARALAND The Damaraland is a vast and rugged terrain. Its mountain ranges are intercepted by wide gravel plains which run into sandy' vegetated riverbeds and hot, dry valleys. We may be fortunate and see the rare desert elephant or the elusive black rhino. We enjoy the solitude and the remoteness of our secluded bush camp.

DAY 9: TWYFELFONTEIN - PETRIFIED FOREST Twyfelfontein "Fountain of Doubt" possibly has the most spectacular collection of rock paintings and engravings in Africa. Other attractions include The Petrified Forest, which has a large number of fossilised tree trunks, the Burnt Mountain and the Organ Pipes.

DAY 10: SEAL COLONY - CAPE CROSS - SWAKOPMUND The large colony of Cape fur seals (about 50 000) at Cape Cross is a very impressive sight. Swakopmund, with its German colonial atmosphere, is the principal resort of Namibia. This charming town is surrounded by the Namib Desert and has many buildings and houses dating back to the German colonial era. Accommodation in Chalets. Excludes dinner and lunch.

DAY 11: THE RARE WELWITSCHIAS - MOON VALLEY - NAMIB DESERT The Welwitschia is an unusual prehistoric plant which is a dwarf tree flourishing on the moisture of the Atlantic Coast. Its lifespan is estimated at more than 1 000 years. Our camp in the desert under the bright stars of the Southern Hemisphere will create a lasting impression.

DAY 12/13/14: HAMEB DESERT - SESRIEM/ NAMIB NAUKLUFT PARK Our journey takes us through the Namib Desert, a great wilderness, a vast solitary place, harsh and primeval, the oldest desert on earth. The gigantic 375m high red and grey dunes are the highest in the world. This desert is extraordinary with over 200 species of beetles, scorpions, spiders, geckoes, chameleons, crickets, wasps, lizards, moles, side-winder snakes, snake eating eagles and jackals. Most of the creatures and plants depend on the mist from the Atlantic for survival. We continue on through the incredible scenery of the Naukluft Mountains. Several hiking trails follow springs and rock pools allow us to visit the rugged area. The park has a diverse flora and an abundance of perennial water, a rich birdlife and a varied population of wild animals, particularly mountain zebras, baboons, leopards and rock hyrax.
