THE SOUTH AFRICA ADVENTURE

DAY 1 - SWELLENDAM

Depart Cape Town for the winelands, where we stop for wine tasting before heading on to Swellendam. Overnight alongside Breede River in the Bontebok National Park.

 

DAY 2 - OUDTSHOORN

Travel to Oudtshoorn enjoying outstanding scenery en route. Later in the day we have some fun as you can take a ride on an ostrich, the largest bird in the world, when we visit the ostrich farm. Overnight in Oudtshoorn.

 

DAY 3 - WILDERNESS

Start the day with an early tour of the world renowned Cango Caves. Travel through the Outeniqua Mountains to George and on to the Indian Ocean paradise of Wilderness.

 

DAY 4 & 5 - KNYSNAISTORMS RIVER MOUTH Our first visit is to the picturesque coastal town of Knysna. Optional visit to the oyster farm. Continue on through Nature's Valley to the Tsitsikamma National Park, a venue of exquisite beauty. Follow the tracks alone the first few kilometres of the world famous Otter Trail units you reach a magnificent waterfall where we rest and refresh in the icy pool. There is an option of a full day of blackwater tubing or you can dare the highest bridge bungi jump in the world at 216m.

 

DAY 6 - MOUNTAIN ZEBRA NATIONAL PARK

Depart Tsitsikamma National Park and travel through Craddock to the Mountain Zebra National Park.

 

DAY 7 - LESOTHO

After a full day's drive we arrive in the mountain kingdom of Lesotho with its breathtaking scenery. When border formalities are completed, we head into the mountains.

 

DAY 8 - LESOTHO

Day at leisure for optional pony trekking and hiking through the steep gorges, and sparkling waterfalls.

 

DAY 9 & 10 - GOLDEN GATE /ROYAL NATAL NATIONAL PARK

Today we lunch at the foot of a towering sandstone formation in the heart of the Golden Gate Highlands National Park. We continue on to the Royal Natal National Park to see our first glimpse of the mighty Drakensberg escarpment. Next day at leisure for hiking, horse riding, swimming and other activities.

 

DAY 11 & 12 - KWAZULU - NATAL

Travel up through the sugar plantations of Kwazulu Natal, home of the powerful Zulu nation. Experience their fascinating culture and the magnificent scenery of the area. Enjoy a game viewing boat cruise.

 

DAY 13 & 14 - SWAZILAND

Cross the border to Swaziland and head north through this mountainous country. There is an opportunity during our visit to Swaziland for curio shopping as we stop off to browse through the markets. Our overnight camps are Mlilwane Game Reserve and Malolotje Nature Reserve where there are optional activities to enjoy such as mountain biking, hiking and game viewing.

 

DAY 15,16 & 17 - KRUGER NATIONAL PARK Leaving Swaziland, we travel to Mpumalanga, an area of haunting beauty. We enter the Kruger National Park, to view some of Africa's wildlife over the next three days.

 

DAY 18 - MPUMALANGA - PILGRIM'S REST

A full day of sightseeing including Blyde River Canyon, Bourkes Luck potholes and God's window. In the late afternoon we arrive at Pilgrim's Rest, a famous gold mining town restored to its former glory.

 

DAY 19 - PILGRIM'S REST

Discover the fascinating history of this town, with an optional tour to view the local caves and bushman paintings and try your hand at gold panning. Tonight's our last night together, so let's make it one to remember.

 

DAY 20 - JOHANNESBURG /DEPART

After breakfast, we set off for Johannesburg to end this incredible adventure at approximately 16h00.

 

Accommodation throughout this safari is in tents, the meals provided are Breakfast and Dinner each day.

This safari is conducted on a Truck which starts in Cape Town and finishes in Johannesburg.

 

This safari departs on a daily basis with a minimum of 2 people.
