With a small number of rooms, the emphasis at River Bend Lodge
is on understated luxury.

Rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, are individually decorated and are a
combination of old-fashioned luxury and modern convenience. All rooms have
private verandahs and views over the valley.

We welcome children and offer a special children's area equipped with entertainment activities. Babysitters are available on request.

Our spacious meeting room caters to the executive and corporate client seeking an exclusive venue for a getaway experience with your sightings of beautiful birds.

Cuisine

Our cuisine is an inspired blend of the best from around the world with fine wines carefully selected to complement your meals. Breakfasts may be enjoyed either in our dining area or in your bedroom.

Start lunch or dinner with an aperitif on the bush viewing deck or in the lounge. Lunch is an informal occasion around the pool or on the verandah, while dinner, in the best colonial tradition, is tastefully served in our beautifully appointed dining room. Picnic baskets may be ordered for the day to take with you on your various visits to the surrounding attractions.

Directions to River Bend Country Lodge
· From Port Elizabeth, take the N2 towards Grahamstown.
· Take the R335 off-ramp, following the Motherwell/Addo signs.
· Continue approximately 43km's and you will reach the 'village' of Addo.
· Continue for 11.5km and turn LEFT on the road
signposted: Zuurberg Inn, Dave Marais Camp, Slagboom.
· 3.5km along the road you will see the River Bend Country Lodge gates on your right.

When traveling in the country in South Africa, please be aware of animals on the roadsides.

ACTIVITIES: The Lodge – Swimming pool, Vitality Studio, gourmet meals, relaxing lounge, large rooms with private patios overlooking open plains, magnificent landscaped gardens, terrace area with outdoor lounge are overlooking the “elephant wallow”

The Addo Concession – River Bend is situated in the Greater Addo National Park (17000 hectares). Lodge excursions include game drives - morning, evening and night drives and sightings can include elephant, rhino, buffalo, zebra, aardvark, porcupine, eland, antelope, birds and guaranteed magnificent scenery in pristine sub-tropical savannah bushveld. No other private vehicles have access to the concession and it is currently use exclusively by River Bend.

The Wildlife Centre & Conservancy – Introduction to a private conservation project adjacent to the Concession area (3000 hectares). Learn about wild dog and serval breeding programmes, get to touch orphaned animals that are being hand reared, game drives include sightings of elephant, rhino, sable, giraffe and many other plains game.

Self-drive Activities: Guests may also choose to visit the main part of Addo themselves, an area that does allow private vehicles to drive around freely, there are also many historical and cultural excursions within easy access from River Bend.
