TANZANIA SAFARI This exclusive safari visits all the major game reserves of Tanzania. Spending 11 days between The Serengeti, the impressive Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Park. Day 1 - Arusha You will be collected from Arusha Airport and transferred to your hotel. Overnight at the Dik Dik Hotel. Days 2 & 3 - Serengeti In the morning you will transfer to Arusha Airport for your scenic flight to Grumeti airstrip (western corridor). You will be transferred to you to the camp for lunch. Late evening game drive. At Kirawira Luxury Tented Camp, guests experience Africa's majesty as if they are among the first to travel these extraordinary lands. Set upon a hill with commanding views of endless savanna, the tented camp allows visitors to feel close to the soul of the African wilderness. Luxurious sleeping and bathing arrangements are complemented by valet service, superb meals made to order from house cuisine or from guest recipes. Victorian and East African elements are blended artfully to create the ultimate safari ambience. Lush vegetation surrounds the hillock upon which the camp is located. It is home to a wide variety of big game - lion, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, baboon, gazelle and wildebeest. Without even leaving camp, one can encounter much of the extraordinary birdlife known to the immediate area. Overnights at Kirawira Luxury Tented Camp. Serengeti National Park Arguably the most famous National Park in the world, the vast predator-rich Serengeti National Park needs little introduction. This primeval paradise of roughly the size of Northern Ireland has been the subject of countless wildlife films, each seeking to capture the unique spirit of this exhilarating ecosystem that was, until recently, the domain of a favoured few. The unfurling plains of Seronera provide the stage for the most dramatic wildlife spectacle on the planet when the massed herds of a million wildebeest congregate on the short-grass plains for The Great Migration north to the Masai Mara. The gently undulating hills of Lobo stretch up to the Kenyan border, an idyllic landscape, dotted with kopjes and shady arbours, in which we track the resident wildlife. Heading west, we reach the croc-infested waters of the Grumeti River, the dramatic crossing point where thousands of wildebeest fall prey to the waiting predators as they cross the river en-route to the dry season grassy plains of the Mara. We are proud to say that the Serengeti is everything that the discerning safari-seeker would expect and more - and we believe that a few nights in a luxury mobile camp come closer than any other way to doing it the justice it deserves. Days 4 & 5 - Serengeti Depart for lunch at Serengeti Serena with a game drive en-route. Late afternoon game drive along the Seronera Valley and river. Overnights at Serengeti Serena. Day 6 - Ngorongoro Crater Depart early for a short visit to Olduvai Gorge where the Leakeys unearthed the most important hominoid fossils. Proceed to Ngorongoro for lunch at the lodge. Afternoon at leisure. On day 7 you will have a ful day in the Crater. Ngorongoro is perhaps the finest, and without doubt the most impressive, wildlife destination on the planet. A perfectly-formed sunken volcano that hosts as wide a cross-section of wildlife as is found on the continent of Africa, including the rare Black Rhino. A game drive around this perfect natural amphitheatre, bounded by towering 2000 ft. sheer walls, allows a rare intimacy with the resident wildlife that roam the definitive range of ecosystems. Overnights at Ngorongoro Serena. Days 8, 9 & 10 - Tarangire Depart Ngorongoro with picnic lunch. Drive via Lake Manyara National to Tarangire National Park with a game drive en-route. On day 8 the day is spent exploring Silale Swamp and watching the concentration of plain's game and elephants along the Tarangire river with packed lunches returning to your camp for hot showers and cocktails around a traditional camp fire. Day 9 is spent exploring Silale Swamp and watching the concentration of plain's game and elephants along the Tarangire river with packed lunches returning to your camp for hot showers. Early on the morning of day 10 you will take a game drive and return to the camp for a late lunch. Bush walk in the afternoon. Sundowners at Kikoti Rock. Return to camp.
