DAY SELOUS AND RUAHA SAFARI Highlights Day 1 On arrival at Dar es Salaam International Airport you will bet met by our driver guide, then transfer to the Mediterraneo Hotel for a break till lunchtime. After lunch do a Dar es Salaam city tour, visiting the National museum then later go to Mwenge carving and Morogoro store for tingatinga paints. Drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight. B/B Day 2. After breakfast drive to the airport to catch the flights, which depart to Selous Game Reserve and you will be transferred to Rufiji river Camp. Which located on the bank of Rufiji River. Do a short tour around the camp then after lunch go for a game drive. In Selous there a lot of variety animals and birds to see. Late afternoon drive back to the camp for dinner and overnight. F/B The camp accomodates guests in 20 very comfortable tents. Each tent has twin bed with mosquito nets, completely equipped private bathroom and comfortable verandah facing a magnificent view. The central restaurant provides excellent exotic and international cuisine. A well equipped bar gives the guests a wide choice of beverages.
Day 3 Early in the morning you go for game drive with a chance to view the predators then later back to the camp for the breakfast.Relax & enjoy the view of the Rufiji river and then in the afternnon go for another game drive back to the camp in time for dinner & watch the sun as it sets across the Rufiji river Over night at Rufiji River camp. F/B
Besides walking safaris and 4wd car excursions, a major attraction is the Boat Trip along the Rufiji RIver and the adjoining lakes where hippo, crocodile and 400 species of birds can be observed. Sport fishing facilities are available. Day 4 After breakfast you will take a boat trip, viewing the game from the boat. Return for lunch to the Camp, and have an afternoon game drive in the reserve. Dinner and over night at Rufiji River Camp. F/B Day 5 After breakfast drive to the airstrip to catch the flight to the unspoilt Ruaha National Park, home for 10,000 elephants. Have lunch at Ruaha River Lodge, and go for an afternoon game drive afterwards. Return to the Camp in the evening for overnight and dinner. The bandas are overlooking the river and you can see the animals coming to drink, which is an amazing experience. F/B Overlooking the Great Ruaha River in the Ruaha National Park, the lodge is built on and around a rocky kopjee and blends into it’s natural surroundings to enable visitors to feel themselves part of the wild. Ruaha, one of the largest National Parks in Africa, is comparatively unknown and, due to it’s remoteness, remains unspoilt. Archaeologists have discovered evidence of Stone Age habitation in and around the Lodge.
Accommodation bandas, built from local stone and thatch, provide the perfect setting in which to relax between bush excursions. From the seclusion of your verandah you can watch wild animals as they descend from the hills to quench their thirst and graze.
Day 6 Take a packed breakfast and depart for an early game drive. You will get a chance to see many animals like zebras, lions, giraffes, kudus, and Ruaha is also famous for its more than 400 species of birds. Return for lunch at camp. Have a break and depart for your afternoon game drive along the river, where you will see Nile crocodiles, hippos and storks. Over night Ruaha River Lodge. F/B
