Safari Africa is offering a 9-day Zimbabwe & Botswana safari that explores

some remote wilderness. This interesting and comprehensive itinerary includes

visits to Lake Kariba and the famous Victoria Falls before venturing

into Botswana's Chobe National Park.

Days 1 & 2 : Kariba

Transfer direct from Harare to Kariba where overlooking Lake Kariba you will spend the next couple of nights at the Caribbea Bay Resort. Activities include a leisurely sunset cruise and game drive in the rugged Kuburi Wilderness area. This is the ultimate place from which to witness the miracle of Kariba, magnificent sunsets, a myriad of birds and the plentiful game are just part of this experience.

Also included is a Kariba highlights tour where you visit the dam wall and see some panoramic views of the lake.

Days 3, 4 & 5: Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls, a popular and exciting destination. The Falls themselves are one of the natural wonders of the world that have drawn visitors to the area for decades. The Victoria Falls Safari Lodge encourages you to take advantage of all that the town and surrounding area has to offer, be it White Water Rafting down the Zambezi, a flight over the Falls or an Elephant Back Safari. An exciting and rewarding experience!

The Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is set high on a plateau which forms a natural boundary to the Zambezi National Park. It enjoys uninterrupted views of unspoilt bushveldt, spectacular African sunsets and an on site waterhole attracts regular wildlife from the surrounding area.

Activities included in Victoria Falls: A "Flight of Angel's" Helicopterflight and Sundowner Cruise on the Upper Zambezi River on day 3. A Guided Tour of the Falls and a Guided Traditional Village Tour on day 4. Day 5 is left free of set activities to allow you time to relax or take advantage of the many other activities that Victoria Falls has to offer.

 

Days 6 & 7: Chobe, Botswana.

From Victoria Falls you will transfer by road in the morning to Mowana Safari Lodge, the area is best known for its river which supports concentrations of elephant and a myriad of other wildlife. In the afternoon you take to the river on a game viewing cruise along the Chobe River.

You have the choice of game viewing by land or by water the following day. The dry season from March to October is when large herds of elephant and buffalo can be seen, the short winter months from May to July can be cool, especially at night.

Day 8: Harare

Mid afternoon you will be transferred back to Victoria Falls Airport for your flight to Harare. Your accommodation for the night is the impressive Meikles Hotel, one of Africa's finest hotels. An afternoon at leisure to explore the capitals museums or art galleries or even the kopje from which Cecil Rhodes claimed this land as part of the British Empire.

 

Day 9: Homeward Bound

In the morning you enjoy a guided tour of the city and it's sights. In the afternoon you have some free time to do some last minute shopping in the city centre shops before being taken from your hotel to the Airport for your onward flight.
